A Town Unlike Any Other.

Serenity, Ohio, at night.

Woodson Hall. Serenity University Campus.
Established in 1789, Serenity is a small town nestled within the Appalachian foothills. With a little over 24,000 residents, Serenity has a foothold on nature with hiking trails, caves, a national park, and several bodies of water, including the Hocking River, which winds its way through the land surrounding the town. Located in Southeast Ohio, it is considered one of the most unusual places to visit. The folklore surrounding the town’s history makes visitors feel as if they have stepped into an alternate dimension full of paranormal wonders and cryptid hunts.
Serenity is also home to Serenity University, which has a reputation for having one of the best writing schools in the country. Serenity University was established in 1804, making the school the first college in the state. When the college is in session, the population increases by 15,000 more residents. Serenity University’s campus is large enough to be a small town within a small town. The University Library is one of the largest in the country. Built in 1808, it has fifteen floors; the top floor is known as Supernatural Row. This floor contains ancient artifacts, recorded paranormal testimonies, cryptid research, and folklore histories.
Serenity is a town with a welcoming atmosphere for all who visit and all those who call it home. Whether you live within the town limits or out in the country surrounded by forests and farming communities, there is something for everyone in this self-sustaining town.
